Due to the lack of snow from new year holidays, Nakafurano’s Hokusei Ski Area has been delayed its opening till next weekend. Please follow our website “news” for updates.

Nakafurano Tourism association office will be closed during the period below.

Closed: December 31st (Fri) 2021 ~ January 5th (Wed) 2022

Our office will re-open on January 6th, 2022.

[About Hokusei Ski Area]
Due to the lack of snowfall, Nakafurano town’s ski area, “Hokusei Ski Area,” is postponing its opening. We will take a close look at the condition of the slope and announce the decision of whether the ski slope can be ready for skiers and snowboarders in January.

Thank you for visiting the Farm Tomita in Nakafurano. They have announced the close during this winter on their website. The re-open date will be announced in the next spring. We are looking forward you to come back to Nakafurano in the colorful green season again!!

As of 3/7/2021, Town’s ski site, Hokusei Ski Area, ends this season’s operation. We will be back in Summer for the lavender season. Thank you and see you in summer!

Due to the current weather condition, JR Furano Line will be closed whole day; however, Furano Bus, as of 9:00AM local time, is in operation. Please check their websites for the schedule.

The government of Hokkaido announced that there are two confirmed cases of COVID-19 from Nakafurano residents (2 teenagers). Those patients are currently recovering from the symptoms after being hospitalized. The town of Nakafurano has established the infectious disease control HQ and been continuing to gather the right information and take counter measures against the current situation.
